Alone in Love
Alone in Love is by far the best Korean drama that I have seen thus far. Son Ye Jin and Kam Woo Sung star as a divorced couple whose nuptial fate is, by and large, far from over. This drama unfolds in a highly thoughtful and sensitive manner. Thoughtfully written, no word, thought or action is frivolous in all of its 16 episodes. The story was told in such a realistic manner, that one can’t help but feel like a silent observer on the lives of the characters.
Kudos to the director who not only made the characters come alive, but also using interesting angles and shots to convey the essence of the story. There were scenes where the artistes had to film multiple times as the director filmed from opposing angles which would have meant the having the camera in full view during shooting. So flawless was the performance of the artistes that I couldn’t tell that more than one take was use to make a single scene.
This tells us that where we are today is very much a culmination of all the decisions we have ever made in the past. However, being where we are now, be it because of a bad decision(s), does not mean that we do not have a choice. We have the choice to determine the trajectory of our lives, except that the future will always be uncertain, and what we feel, see and experience today, is nothing but a dim memory when we reach a new point of our life in the future. Moral of the story – be true to your feelings and live your life as how you want it to be.
This is one Korean drama which I think everyone should watch. I sincerely believe that Alone in Live contains a lesson or message for each and everyone of us. You can miss 宫, My Lovely Samsoon, Autumn in My Heart, and yes, even 大长今, but you should definitely not miss Alone in Love.

hiya
great to see u posting again
u know i dont really watch K-drama, but after watching a few episodes of Foxy Lady on Starhub Cable, I went and bot the DVDs. Regretted it lor. What started out as promising turned out quite draggy after a while.
what is the story all abt? sad??
Be true to feelings and live life as u want it to be? is that possible? what abt obligations….what abt responsibilities?
True…we’ll always have a choice….but that choice normally entails sacrifices and a certain amount of pain and heartache.
Difficult to describe the story here. It is a well told story about the trials and tribulations that a divorced couple goes through before finding happiness. Not your fairy-tale type of happiness, You have to watch it to understand.
Yes, we always have a choice. As you have said, all our decisions are based on responsibilities, sacrifices etc. But at the end of the day, are you happy with where you are now, taking into account that where you are now is a culmination of every single decision you have made in your life. Yes or no, we have the choice to determine where we move on to from “here” – the point where we are right now.
The show is all the above and more. Watch the show and you will understand what I mean.
Spuddy, not sure how good, errr, or bad, Foxy Lady is. But its cover failed to attract me when I looked at it at the shops. Guess the artistes in the series failed my superficial looks test.
But I have also come to the realisation that ‘good’ K-dramas are usually helmed by the more popular artistes, which now determines the decision I make when purchasing new series. It also helps to do some research on the internet. But be warned that fans will always say that a particular drama is good etc. So there’s always an element of risk when deciding on which drama to purchase. But that adds to the fun lah,
agree with most being said above..the depth of the story really hit at the end of the journey. for those who believe in faith should have faith that their faith is design to be work on too.
You’re right. No one should miss ‘Alone in Love’. I’ve last watched it a few weeks ago and the memory of it still warms my heart.
